Today a Traverse City school took part in a nationwide rally for more children's afterschool programs.
Traverse Heights Elementary and KidzArt hosted more than twenty students and their families for dinner, pumpkin carving and arts and crafts. The event was part of a nationwide show of support for more afterschool activities for kids.
KidzArt says it's extremely important for kids to have a supervised and nurturing environment when they get home from school.
Traverse Heights recently lost funding for afterschool programs and is looking for donations and grants.
