Obama, Clinton stress job creation while campaigning » View Picture » Play Video » Feedback (0)
Jobs are the main topic as Democrats Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama campaign in big industrial states.
Obama, on a six-day bus tour of Pennsylvania, offered a bit of tough love to voters. He says some industrial and manufacturing jobs may not return to the steel region, but others could take their place. Obama toured a factory that makes the wires that eventually become Slinky toys. He played with a Slinky through the visit. Clinton also stressed job creation at campaign stops in Indiana and Kentucky. She vowed to help manufacturers transition to new industries like clean energy and end tax breaks for American companies that ship jobs overseas. Jobs and the economy are front and center in the remaining primary contests between the two Democratic hopefuls. Pennsylvania holds its primary April 22nd; Indiana votes May 6th.
